On June 14, 11:00 p.m. KST, the Hallyu scene was left abuzz after Song Joong Ki, the most sought-after star today, and his wife gave birth to their first child!
The Hallyu superstar happily announced that his wife, Katy Louise Saunders, has given birth to a bouncing baby boy in Rome, Italy.
Song Joong Ki shared the thrilling news through his official fan cafe, saying, "I want to share the exciting news to you first. I finally met my baby in Rome, my wife's hometown."
"He's a healthy boy just like his mother," Song Joong Ki added. "I'm taking care of my little family with a grateful feeling."
The Hallyu star described his son's birth as the "most precious gift" that he has ever received in his life. In particular, Song Joong Ki thanked the fans who have supported him and Katy Louise Saunders from the beginning.
He also promised to return with greater works in the near future. On the other hand, Song Joong Ki registered his marriage with his wife earlier this year.

Recently, the actor's film "Hopeless" was screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, earning applause from filmmakers and actors all around the globe.
In addition to that, he also headlined the upcoming action film "My Name is Loh Kiwan," which recently wrapped up its principal filming in Hungary.
Song Joong Ki plays a North Korean defector opposite Choi Sung Eun who takes on the role of a Korean-born Belgian woman who, although under difficult circumstances, fall in love with each other.
