Park Bo Young Recalls ‘Awkward’ Moment With Park Seo Joon During ‘Concrete Utopia’ Filming

Park Bo Young spills secrets behind filming the upcoming movie "Concrete Utopia" as well as her "awkward" encounter with co-star Park Seo Joon.

One of the most highly anticipated movies of 2023, the sci-fi thriller film boasts not just an interesting plot but also a roster of top stars.

During the "Concrete Utopia" press conference, attended by Lee Byung Hun, Kim Sun Young, Park Ji Hoo, Kim Do Yoon, and Director Uhm Tae Hwa, Park Bo Young recalled a funny experience where she felt uneasy with Park Seo Joon.

Park Bo Young Says She Felt 'Awkward' Filming a Wedding Scene With Park Seo Joon in 'Concrete Utopia'

Both Park Bo Young and Park Seo Joon have cemented their names in the entertainment industry; from one hit after the other, they managed to deliver successful K-dramas. 

Interestingly, this is the first time that they have starred together.

However, Park Bo Young had a remarkable moment upon meeting the South Korean hearthrob.

According to the actress, on the first day of their shoot, she and Park Seo Joon had to film a wedding scene. 

"After meeting Park Seo Joon for the first time, I greeted him and wore a wedding dress right away," she said, as obtained by a media outlet. She also recalled how confused she was about how to greet her co-star.

"It was our first meeting, and I wondered if I could raise my hand or if it would be rude to act too affectionately. It was so awkward since our first shoot was for a wedding scene," the actress added.

Fortunately, they began to warm up to each other and were able to pull off the wedding scene. 

"We quickly became comfortable with each other after gradually matching our acting with each other," Park Bo Young added. 

'Concrete Utopia' Cast and Release Date

Helmed by Uhm Tae Hwa of "Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned," "Concrete Utopia" is based on part 2 of the webtoon "Joyful Outcast."

It is a disaster thriller film that depicts the story of survivors in Hwang Goong Apartments after a devastating earthquake.

Amid the catastrophic incident that affected millions of residents in Seoul, the said building was the only structure left after the disaster. 

In the upcoming movie, Lee Byung Hun plays Young Tak, who acts as the survivors' temporary leader. His responsibility is to protect the people and the building from outsiders. 

Meanwhile, Park Seo Joon and Park Bo Young played married couple Min Sung and Myung Hwa. 

Ahead of the press conference, "Concrete Utopia" released the movie's first trailer, piquing the interest of the viewers. 

Meanwhile, "Concrete Utopia" is slated to hit the big screen this August.
