Lee Sung Kyung Praised by THIS ‘Dr Romantic 3’ Co-Star: ‘I feel incredibly thankful for her’

Lee Sung Kyung was lauded by her "Dr. Romantic 3" co-star Byun Woo Min for her kindness during the filming of the medical K-drama.

In one of the most beloved SBS medical series, the 32-year-old actress plays Cardiothoracic surgeon Cha Eun Jae, while the senior actor, who has been with the series since season 1, reprises his role as anesthesiologist and restaurant owner Nam Do Il.

During his guest appearance in the SBS show "Strong Heart League," Byun Woo Min revealed a surprising yet touching story about working alongside Lee Sung Kyung.

In his interview, the 58-year-old actor shared the challenges of filming scenes in the operating room.

As obtained by SBS Star, Byun Woo Min revealed that they use dummies to perform surgery, which is usually done in medical K-dramas.

"Actors are given another set of dummies to perform the exact same surgery for their shoots. When that's done, we must film once more so that cameras can capture close-ups of our hands," he said, adding that doing scenes in medical series is a long process.

According to the actor, it usually takes them hours to finish, adding, "It would take a minimum of 12 hours, even up to three days."

Due to this, cast members could feel body pain, especially during long hours of shooting.

However, he revealed an interesting story about Lee Sung Kyung.

The actress, who was also going through a similar painful experience as Byun Woo Min, was curious if she was also dealing with the same painful experience as him.

Lee Sung Kyung said that she could also feel pain in her shoulders.

The next day, the actress gifted Byun Woo Min with a thoughtful present and gave him a massager.

"She told me that I should try using it, as it would help with the pain. Ever since I received that massager from her, I've been using it every day. I just feel incredibly thankful for her gift, you know."

Moreover, the actor said that he got emotional after receiving a gift for Lee Sung Kyung and praising her for her genuine kindness. 

"I suddenly burst into tears. I couldn't help it," he said, adding, "It was her kind and caring heart that made me teary-eyed."

Apart from Byun Woo Min, co-star Ahn Hyo Seop also received a thoughtful surprise from the actress.

In 2021, she sent the 28-year-old actor a food and coffee truck for his then-upcoming historical K-drama, "Lovers of the Red Sky."

Lee Sung Kyung added a hilarious touch to the food truck along with a banner that says "Paul [Ahn Hyo Seop's English name], are you taking over sageuk now too? I'm proud of you. Seop Seobi, fighting!" together with a photo of them during the "Dr. Romantic 2" taping.
