Woo Do Hwan To Headline 'Mr. Plankton' With Lee Yoo Mi, Oh Jung Se, More

Netflix unveiled the cast lineup for the upcoming rom-com K-drama "Mr. Plankton." The cast includes Lee Yoo Mi, Oh Jung Se, Kim Hae Sook, and, of course, Woo Do Hwan, who will play as the main lead.

Helmed by "Juvenile Justice," "Her Private Life," and "Link: Eat, Love, Kill" director Hong Jong Chan, and penned by Jo Yong of "It's Okay Not To Be Okay," the forthcoming series depicts the story of a man who is wandering life without a family.

Without a purpose, Hae Jo, played by Woo Do Hwan, liVes like a plankton. However, an incident shakes his life, and he decides to find his biological father.

Meanwhile, Lee Yoo Mi, from "All of Us Are Dead" and "Squid Game," will be playing the role of Jo Jae Mi. She is the woman who wants to help Hae Jo find meaning in his life.

With Lee Yoo Mi and Woo Do Hwan's team-up, this raises fans' anticipation for the upcoming romance-comedy series and the on-screen chemistry between the two.

Adding to the list of "Mr. Plankton" cast members is the award-winning actor Oh Jung Se. Known for his roles in "It's Okay Not To Be Okay" and Revenant," he will portray the role of Eo Heung, a doctor of Korean Medicine. He is also the 18th descendant of the Chunghaegong faction's Eo family of Poongyeong.

Lastly, joining the lineup is the veteran actress Kim Hae Sook, the Jade Emperor in "Tomorrow," and the villainous royal in "Under the Queen's Umbrella." She will be take on the role of Eo Heung's mother, someone who is keen on wanting a good daughter-in-law for his son.

Following the announcement of the cast, "Mr. Plankton" will begin its production this July, and will consist of 10 episodes.

Woo Do Hwan Booked & Busy After Military Discharge

The South Korean actor is among the K-actors who have been starring in back-to-back K-dramas this year.

After returning to his civilian life, Woo Do Hwan appeared in his first K-drama since military discharge, and played a lead role in "Joseon Attorney: A Morality" with WJSN Bona.

It was then followed by the Netflix original series Bloodhounds," in which he played an amateur boxer, along with Lee Sang Yi.

Viewers loved the duo's romance, making "Bloodhounds" enter Netflix's top 10 TV shows after premiere.
