Kim Hee Sun Says She is ‘More Nervous’ About Big Screen Comeback After 20 Years

Kim Hee Sun dished on her experience returning to the big screen for the upcoming film "Honey Sweet." The actress also spoke about her working relationship with Yoo Hae Jin for his first rom-com movie.

Kim Hee Sun on Her Movie Comeback After 20 Years

During the press conference for the upcoming film, lead stars Kim Hee Sun and Yoo Hae Jin, along with Han Sun Hwa and director Lee Han, answered a series of questions from the media and talked about "Honey Sweet."

One of the highlights of the "Honey Sweet" press conference was seeing Kim Hee Sun return to the big screen after 20 years.

When asked about it, she confessed that doing a movie after two decades made her nervous.

"I think you might be thinking, 'It's been a while since Kim Hee Sun did a movie. So she was more nervous, but there were many great people around her.'"

She also praised her co-stars and the team behind the movie. 

To recall, her last appearance as the lead character was in the 2003 romance drama "A Man Who Went to Mars," which she headlined together with Kim Min Joon and Shin Ha Kyun.

The actress was also asked about the difference between making movies then and now.

"It's been a while since I filmed a movie. Actually, I am from the film generation. Other than that, nothing much has changed in the field."

Initially titled "Sweet and Warm," Kim Hee Sun plays an ordinary office worker named Il Young who works in a call center. She is a single mother who raises her child while making ends meet for the both of them.

"Honey Sweetr" depicts the romance between Il Young and Chi Ho, played by Yoo Hae Jin, who works in the same company as Il Young.

However, he is assigned as a researcher specializing in developing addictive flavors for the confectionary company. His life changed after meeting Il Young.

Apart from the duo, Jin Seon Kyu, who worked with Yoo Hae Jin in "Confidential Assignment 2," portrays the role of Byung Hoon, the son of the company's CEO.

Scheduled to hit the big screen on August 15, the unlikely romance between the lead stars will surely bring entertainment to viewers.

While "Honey Sweet" is Kim Hee Sun's first movie in 20 years, the upcoming film is Yoo Hae Jin's rom-com debut. The versatile star is often cast in action, crime series along with fellow top stars like Hyun Bin, Hwang Jung Min, and more.

As for Kim Hee Sun, the actress said that she got "curious" to see Yoo Hae Jin in a rom-com set-up; however, he pulled the character flawlessly.

Moreover, the actress also recalled the time when the actor visited her on her first day of filming.

"During my first filming, Yoo Hae Jin came to the set and cheered me on even though there was no filming."

Kim Hee Sun also added that her co-star would visit for two days straight and would keep her "happy" on the set.
