"Not Others" officially kicked off with Choi Soo Young and Jeon Hye Jin delivering a unique tandem as they play mother and daughter. Based on the webtoon "Namnam," the newly-released rom-com K-drama depicts the story of a single mother who raised her daughter on her own.

However, as Kim Jin Hee starts working as a public servant at Namchon Police Substation, Kim Eun Mi, who is in her 40s, struggles to have a steady relationship with her daughter.

On the other hand, Kim Jin Hee also faces a setback at her workplace, resulting in her transfer to a smaller police station.

Helmed by Lee Min Woo of "Cinderella and the Four Knights," Jeon Hye Jin returns to the small screen as the liberated single mom, while her onscreen daughter is played by Girls' Generation member, Choi Sooyoung.

Besides the duo, Ahn Jae Wook and Park Sung Hoon play as the male leads.

'Not Others' Episode 1 Recap

Veering away from the usual rom-com series, one of the highlights in "Not Others" is the mother-daughter relationship between Kim Eun Mi and Kim Jin Hee.

She refused to leave by her side not because she was scared but to prevent her mom from meeting strange men.

Fast forward to the present time, Kim Jin Hee is 28 years old and works as a Corporal in a police station.

Meanwhile, Kim Eun Mi is in her fourties and works in a beauty clinic.

Although the duo is quite close, they also have misunderstandings, especially with their points of view in life.

The thing that made Kim Eun Mi furious was when Kim Jin Hee didn't reveal to her mother that she was transfered to a police sub-unit due to an incident. She only knew about this when she called the police station and asked about her daughter.

As soon as Jin Hee arrived, she went ballistic towards her daughter.

However, she explained why she didn't want to bother her mom about it.

On the other hand, Kim Jin Hee's agony started after she began working alongside Chief Park Sung Hoon, with whom she once had a bad blood. The chief warned Kim Jin Hee not to make a fuss in his substation, especially around their colleagues.
