Ju Ji Hoon Update

Known for his amazing acting skills and unique visuals, Ju Ji Hoon dishes on the downside of being handsome, especially in the public's perception.

During his appearance on KBS Cool FM's "Park Myung Soo's Radio Show" to promote his new movie "Unofficial Operation," where he headlines alongside Ha Jung Woo, the 41-year-old top star talks about the disadvantage of being good-looking.

Ju Ji Hoon Says His Visuals Makes Him Intimidating - Here's Why

In the interview, host Park Myung Soo recalled the time when he asked Jung Woo Sung the same question, to which he confidently responded and answered "None," referring to the cons of being handsome.

However, as for Ju Ji Hoon, he replied with the opposite answer and shared the disadvantage of being visually attractive.

"Well, yes. While Woo Sung has a soft and gentle look, I have dark skin and elongated eyes," he said, as obtained by a media outlet. Due to this trait, the South Korean star thinks it's also the reason others find him intimidating.

Behind his jaw-dropping looks, Ju Ji Hoon had a fair share of negative experiences because of his looks.

During his early days as an actor, he was criticized for his dark skin. In an episode of  tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," he recalled his previous K-drama, "Princess Hours," where he starred alongside Yoon Eun Hye.

At the time, it was his first ever K-drama appearance, and played the main lead of the series.

Because of his unconventional looks, as compared to other South Korean actors, Ju Ji Hoon receives negative reactions from the public.

As mentioned by SBS Star, the actor would receive responses such as "How are you a prince? You don't have the right skin color for it," and would get comments like he is "too dark" for the role.

Now, Ju Ji Hoon is not only known as the lead star of "Princess Hours" and "Kingdom," but is also considered one of the most sought-after stars of his generation.
