‘The First Responders 2’ Episode 1: Kim Rae Won Hunts Down Dangerous Arsonist

The second installment of "The First Responders" finally greeted the viewers after a long wait. In episode 1, the police and fire departments lead by Kim Rae Won are busy on their toes. Read on to know more.

Jin Ho Gae Hunts Down A Dangerous Criminal

"The First Responders" Season 2 begins with Jin Ho Gae (Kim Rae Won) on the run to chase a criminal, exuding ferocity and determination.

Unfortunately, he isn't able to catch the serial arsonist that is responsible for multiple deaths in the city. The arson culprit caused a huge headache in both the police force and fire department.

To find out more about the arsonist, Jin Ho Gae goes to a prison with high profile inmates to meet up with a former arsonist to gauge information.

The prisoner tells Jin Ho Gae that the arsonist on the loose must have lost something he treasures in the past, which urged him to do things to the extreme.

With this, the police detective then recalls all the events that connect all the dots surrounding the incident.

Who Is The Criminal?

In the past, Jin Ho Gae and Bong Do Jin (Son Ho Jun) are seen entering a burning building in the parking lot to rescue the victims inside it.

Unfortunately, they miscalculated their steps, trapping them inside the little space. Thankfully, they both manage to get out of the burning building.

The police and fire departments conduct numerous investigations which lead them to discover something about the arsonist: a special wrench is used to spearhead the crime and it can be easily traced back to its owner.

Meanwhile, the victims that died inside the building were pronounced dead long before the fire started. The medicine that was used on them can also be traced to its seller, much to viewers' satisfaction.

A Love Triangle Amidst Chaos

Jin Ho Gae and Song Seol (Gong Seung Yeon) begin to grow closer following the incident, which irks Bong Do Jin who secretly has feelings for the latter.

The fire investigator even carries around a box of ring to propose to her. Sadly for him, Song Seol seems to have a deeper connection with Jin Ho Gae, creating a gut-wrenching love triangle.

Elsewhere, the arsonist doesn't rest and looks for his next victim. In a small town nearby, a mom-and-pop restaurant suddenly catches fire.

The first episode of "The First Responders" Season 2 ends with the firefighters' rescue operation. As soon as Song Seol gets inside, the ceiling begins to crack and fall debris.
