Kim Jee Woon's critically acclaimed film "Cobweb" starring Song Kang Ho, Krystal Jung, Jeon Yeo Bin, Oh Jung Se and more goes international this fall.

After receiving a ten-minute long standing ovation during its screening at Cannes Film Festival 2023, "Cobweb" has been among the most anticipated works in the South Korean cinema.

October is a big month for international fans as the film makes its debut to the silver screens. Read to know more.

'Cobweb' Announces US Theatrical Release

Following the green signal for the cinematic debut of "Cobweb," the fans are once again delighted to learn about its international release this fall.

"Cobweb" is a star-studded black comedy film that follows the passionate director in the 1970s who is plagued by his desire to refilm the ending of his brand new film despite the slippery slopes.

It stars award-winning actors Song Kang Ho of "Parasite," Oh Jung Se of "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," Jeon Yeo Bin of "Vincenzo" and idol-turned-actress Krystal Jung.

It's finally making its premiere this September 27, coinciding the Chuseok (mid-autumn) holiday. In addition to that, "Cobweb" has also been sold to more than eight countries.

Samuel Goldwyn Films will distribute the film in the US in early 2024 while Clover Films for Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, and Edko Films for Hong Kong and Macau.

Anthology Studios screens it in London and Spain. Last but not the least, "Cobweb" will also hit the Philippine cinema this October 4 by TBA Studios, much to the fans' delight.

Kim Jee Woon Gets Candid About 'Cobweb' Film

Through "Cobweb," the production team of the film hopes to deliver comfort and resonance to the public who equally suffered from the hit of the COVID outbreak.

The brand new film is a clever show with a hint of sad and funny relatable situations in real life, experienced by regular people.

In an interview, Kim Jee Woon shared that he wrote "Cobweb" by getting inspirations from his firsthand experiences and struggles as a film creator during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"There were countless horrible situations that were triggered by the pandemic," Kim Jee Woon said. "I want to send a hopeful message that life, like cinema, just goes on despite the disparity and injustices."

Meanwhile, Kim Jee Woon also created box office films "A Tale of Two Sisters" and "I Saw the Devil."
