Song Joong Ki Talks About Being a First Time Dad: ‘I don’t feel pressured at all’

Song Joong Ki opens up about being a father and raising his son with his wife, Katy Louise Saunders.

The South Korean top star is embracing his new milestone as a first-time dad while balancing his career as an actor.

As he returns to South Korea for the Chuseok holiday and, at the same time, the premiere of his movie "Hopeless," Song Joong Ki shares his life with their bundle of joy and having back-to-back projects.

Song Joong Ki Dishes on What's It Like Being a 'Novice Father'

Song Joong Ki graced the press conference for the movie "Hopeless" along with co-stars Hong Xa Bin, singer-actress BIBI, and director Kim Chang Hoon.

Since this is the actor's first public appearance since he became a father, he was asked about his changes as a first-time dad.

As obtained by a news outlet, the top star shared that he received overwhelming congratulatory messages upon hearing the great news.

"I don't feel pressured at all," he said, adding, "Many people have congratulated me. Since I received so many warm congratulations, I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to them."

Moreover, Song Joong Ki briefly updated the public regarding their little family and how they are coping as first-time parents.

"Thanks to all the blessings, the baby is growing up healthily. Since this is our first child, I'm still a novice father, and my wife is also a novice mother. We didn't know that the baby would grow up that fast. He has grown a lot."

In addition, Song Joong Ki mentioned spending "more time playing with the baby to raise him into a good person."

Following the announcement regarding their relationship and shortly after marriage, the South Korean top star and wife, Katy Louise Saunders, welcomed the birth of their first son in June.

Reports say that the British actress gave birth in Rome, Italy, and is currently staying in Katy's hometown.

Along with the announcement is a black-and-white photo of a baby's finger, which the actor posted on his official fan page. At the same time, Song Joong Ki's wife also posted the same photo on her official Instagram account.

Song Joong Ki's New Movie 'Hopeless' Confirms Premiere Date

After his successful comeback in K-drama through "Reborn Rich," Song Joong Ki stars in multiple big-screen projects, among which is "Hopeless."

Initially, the movie made its debut at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, under the Un Certain Regard category.

Months later, "Hopeless" will officially hit the big screen on October 11.
