‘Twinkling Watermelon’ Episode 1: Ryeoun Discovers Beauty of Music

Ha Eun Gyeol Finds Comfort In Music
"Twinkling Watermelon" episode 1 begins with brothers Ha Eun Gyeol (Ryeoun) and Ha Eun Ho (Bong Jae Hyun) meeting at a coffee shop.
Mundane things get complicated with the latter who was born deaf. It is then revealed that in their family, Ha Eun Gyeol is the only one who is able to hear.
At their apartment, their landlord asks Ha Eun Gyeol to hang out with her son. When he refuses to lend him his notes during the exam, the landlord's son relentlessly bullies him.
When he returns to his home, the owner of a music shop helps him out. He even teaches him to play the guitar.
A Tragic Incident Hits Ha Eun Gyeol
Ha Eun Gyeol begins to visit the music shop regularly to take lessons from him. He even improves day by day, surpassing the owner's expectations.
The music shop owner challenges him to create a guitar riff for a tune. If he succeeds, he will receive the guitar that he wants the most.

Ha Eun Gyeol practices to perfect his guitar riff when the landlord's son throws a cigarette but into his room through the window.
The house catches fire in just a minute, and Ha Eun Gyeol's parents quickly save his younger brother.
Ha Eun Gyeol Receives Shocking News
Unbeknownst to them, Ha Eun Gyeol is out to visit the music shop owner. Because of this, his father saunters inside the house, endangering himself.
Thankfully, his father only received minor injuries. When the landlord learns that her son is the one who caused the fire, she evicts him from the building.
The Ha family moves to another home. Ha Eun Gyeol pays the music shop a visit one last time, only to find out that the owner has passed away.
It is revealed that the owner took his own life the previous day, creating a melancholic atmosphere.
Ha Eun Gyeol Shares His Music
At the present time, Ha Eun Gyeol is seen helping his brother learn Taekwondo. Despite his difficulty in hearing, Ha Eun Ho dreams of becoming a renowned athlete.
Elsewhere, Choi Se Kyung (Seol In Ah), a cello player who boasts great beauty is seen entering an ice cream shop where part-timer Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook) instantly falls in love with her.
