Song Hye Kyo Shares She Got Tired of Acting Not Until 'The Glory' Script Came

Song Hye Kyo bagged the Daesang at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards for her outstanding performance in her Netflix drama "The Glory." She portrayed the role of Moon Dong Eun, a victim of school violence.

The series captivated local and international audiences and even Parts 1 and 2 of the drama ranked first globally. After claiming her trophy, the Hallyu superstar sat for an interview and talked about her journey as an actress. 

She confessed that after working on "The Glory," Song Hye Kyo was encountering a wider world of works. 

The actress also admitted that she got tired of her acting.

"Acting was always good. It gets difficult, but at some point, as I didn't do a variety of work, I got tired of my acting. Also, my appearance was the same, and I got tired of it."

She added, "While doing 'The Glory,' the genre changed and my purpose changed, so my facial expressions and tone of dialogue also changed, and it was very fun to watch."

'The Glory' Star Discovers Something New About Her Acting

The "Descendants of the Sun" star continued, "Even though it's been a while since I debuted and I've come this far, I still saw a new face of mine in acting. So while doing this project, acting became fun again, and I started to look forward to seeing a fresh side of myself in a different genre."

She expressed her desire to try out various genres in the future. It has been said that the mature attitude toward the work was also the reason why the 41-year-old actress has been receiving a lot of attention. 

Song Hye Kyo shared that there were a lot of things that went well and things that didn't go well yet she hoped that her work would be known by many. Apart from working hard, luck also played a vital role in her career.

Following the success of "The Glory," many are already anticipating her next work and Song Hye Kyo humbly shared her thoughts about it.

"I have done a lot of melodramas, and there are still a lot of things I haven't tried. I want to try horror, a perfect thriller, and I also want to portray a villain role. Comedy is good. I want to appear in rom-com too."
