"The Deal" and "Strong Girl Namsoon" are two of the newest K-dramas to occupy primetime beginning October first week. In preparation for its release, here are some of the things to know about these series. 

'The Deal'

Kicking off the month strong with this action-thriller drama "The Deal," which is slated to air on October 6. Starring Yoo Seung Ho, Kim Dong Hwi, and Yoo Su Bin, they are the newest trio to anticipate in K-dramaland.

The series is based on the award-winning webtoon piece of the same name that features the story of former three high school classmates now in their twenties who reunite and grab drinks for the first time in a long while. 

Their supposed happy reunion becomes a nightmare as two of them aggressively decide to kidnap the other, and an unexpected turn of events happens, which leads the trio to a complicated and turbulent path.

"The Deal" has managed to generate global buzz ahead of release due to its inclusion in the 'On Screen' section of this year's Busan International Film Festival. The drama looks forward to making its international premiere and delivering a promising and suspenseful story to global viewers.

Yoo Seung Ho's comeback drama is expected to be released in more than 190 countries including America, Europe, and the Middle East. It can be streamed on multiple OTT platforms such as Wavve, Viki, and FriDay.

'Strong Girl Namsoon'

Giving viewers a lighter vibe, JTBC introduces its upcoming fantasy-romance series "Strong Girl Namsoon," which is the sequel to the 2017 drama "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon."

With a twist of comedy and mystery, the spin-off will follow the story of three generations of women born with superpowers and join forces to investigate the drug-related crimes occurring around Gangnam.

Lee Yoo Mi is Gang Nam Soon, a bubbly girl with incredible strength who returns to Korea from Mongolia to find her legitimate parents. She will team up with idol-actor Ong Seong Wu, who will take the role of Gang Hee Shik, a righteous young detective who is in charge of the drug-related crimes investigation.

Returning to the small screen is the "20th Century Girl" actor Byeon Woo Seok, who will transform as a villain in the drama. Veteran actresses Kim Jung Eun and Kim Hae Sook are also set to make their primetime comeback in this project. 

"Strong Girl Namsoon" is already receiving anticipation from the viewers as they are ready to explore a new story and watch the actors' performances in the drama. Adding fun to the much-awaited spin-off is the confirmed appearance of Park Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young.

Catch this new fantasy K-drama beginning October 7 at 10:30 p.m. (KST). New episodes will be released every Saturday and Sunday.
