Han Hyo Joo entertained the audience at the 28th Busan International Film Festival's "Actors' House" when she spoke about the secrets behind the hit K-drama "Moving."

For the past few months, the South Korean star made headlines after taking on an interesting role in the Disney+ series. Playing as former top-tier agent Lee Mi Hyun, Han Hyo Joo showcased her versatility as a star after portraying a single mother to a high school student, Kim Bong Seok, played by Lee Jung Ha.

Interestingly, "Moving" is the drama where she portrayed her first-ever mother role throughout her acting career.

During her talk at the BIFF 2023, Han Hyo Joo shared her inspiration behind her character, and confessed to feeling anxious about taking on the character.

According to the 36-year-old actress, she was 33 or 34 years old when she first received the offer for "Moving."

She admitted that at the time, she "was not confident" because she thought she "was too young to play the role of a high school senior's mother."

But then again, she accepted the offer and didn't regret a single one of them.

"I like to choose a difficult path and challenge myself rather than an easy job," she said, sharing why she opted to go for the series.

It can be recalled that writer Kang Full previously mentioned in an interview that Han Hyo Joo initially refused to take the offer, but fortunately, she did, which left the writer grateful and saying that he was not wrong for selecting her as Lee Mi Hyun.

As for her role, the actress says that her inspiration behind the character is her own mother.

Since she has never played a mother role and is not a mother yet, Han Hyo Joo used to think of herself as her own mother as she played Lee Mi Hyun.

"I thought I could play Lee Mi-hyun while thinking of my mother because I had never been a mother," the actress said, as obtained by a media outlet, adding, "My mother devoted herself to her children and lived for her family, just like mothers of that era."

In "Moving," Lee Mi Hyun is a dedicated mother who will do everything to protect her son, especially since she wants his superpowers to be hidden.

Viewers were delighted to see the touching story of Mi Hyun and Bong Seok, especially when she had to raise him alone.

Han Hyo Joo Says She 'Couldn't Sleep' Before the 'Moving' Release Date

Speaking of her role in "Moving," Han Hyo Joo admits that playing the mother role made her feel nervous, especially the public's reaction once the show aired its pilot episode and being "judged" once it came out.

"I couldn't sleep well because I was nervous before "Moving" was released," she said, but her fears turned into gratitude after getting a lot of positive responses from viewers.

"Fortunately, it was released, and those who watched it gave their compliments. I had only hoped not to be criticized, but I almost cried at being grateful for the compliments," she shared.

After "Moving," Han Hyo Joo returns with another badass role as she plays Keunkal in the movie "Believer 2."
