If you are sick of rom-coms and melos, then spooky-themed series and films are perfect for you! Although these are not for everyone, the spine-chilling and mind-boggling scenes seem to have the kind of feeling that thrill-seekers want.

Interestingly, Reddit users dropped a list of underrated K-dramas and movies that gave them the creeps.

Whether you are into this kind of genre or exploring a new content, here are 5 underrated K-dramas and movies that you need to watch this Halloween.

'Strangers From Hell'

If you are used to Lee Dong Wook seeing him in a boy-next-door or his usual leading man-material, then "Strangers From Hell" might change your perception of him, at least in this K-drama.

Directed by Lee Chang Hee of "The Vanished," the 9-episode K-drama was released in 2017 and stars Im Si Wan as a 20-year-old Yoon Jong Woo, who just moved to Seoul to find work.

In a strange and creepy cheap hostel, he meets a group of bizarre neighbors, one of which is Dr. Seo Moon Jo, played by Lee Dong Wook.

Released in 2021, "Sell Your Haunted House" stars Jang Na Ra as Hong Ji Ah, who has the ability to do exorcism, which she inherited from her mother.

In one of her missions, she bumps into a conman named Oh In Beom, played by Jung Yong Hwa. Unlike Ji Ah, he possesses fake exorcism abilities and uses them to trick people.

'Island'

The 2022 K-drama stars Kim Nam Gil, Cha Eun Woo, and Lee Da Hee.

"Island" focuses on the journey of a chaebol's daughter, who was sent to Jeju Island to do some reflections and fix her arrogant and selfish attitude.

Working as a high school ethics teacher, she began to experience mysterious incidents on the island. Moreover, it is said that a place is where evil roams free.

During her stay, she was able to meet individuals who would help her uncover the island's secrets.

Reddit users included this on the list because the story includes demons, monsters, and a hot priest, who was played by Cha Eun Woo.

'Monstrous'

If you love supernatural and horror in one K-drama, then "Monstrous" is definitely for you!

Starring Shin Hyun Bin, Goo Kyo Hwan, and Kim Jin Young, the six-episode miniseries depicts the story of a supernatural phenomenon that archaeologist Jung Ki Hoon is set to uncover.

The creator of an occult magazine, Monthly Strange Story, he also runs a YouTube channel that highlights these types of strange incidents.

One of their missions is to visit Jinyang County to find the truth behind the "Gwibul," or Buddhist statue possessed by an evil spirit.

'Peninsula'

Based on the hit movie "Train to Busan," the Yeon Sang Ho-directed movie is an action horror film that takes place four years after the zombie outbreak in Busan.

With the city being run down by flesh-eating creatures, a former soldier named Jung Seok was given a mission to return to South Korea, where he unexpectedly meets survivors.

"Peninsula" is headlined by Kang Dong Won and Lee Jung Yun and was released in 2020.
