‘My Dearest’ Part 2 & ‘The Escape of the Seven’ are Head-to-Head in Weekend Rating Race
It's the comeback of historical K-drama "My Dearest" part 2 versus "The Escape of the Seven" in the weekend rating race this October 2023.
After returning from a week-long hiatus, the SBS Makjang series returns with a slight decrease in rating, while Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin's K-drama kick off with an impressive comeback.
'My Dearest' Part 2 Kicks Off With An Impressive Rating
In a report, Nielsen Korea recorded an average nationwide rating of 7.7 percent for "My Dearest," part 2, episode 1.
With this, the historical K-drama continues to showcase high viewership, making it the most-watched series in its time slot.
It can be recalled that the show's Part 1 wrapped up the season with a 12.2 percent nationwide rating and a 1.5 percent metropolitan area rating during the finale episode.
This only proves that viewers looked forward to the return of Lady Yoo Gil Chae and Lee Jang Hyun, played by Ahn Eun Jin and Namgoong Min.
'The Escape of the Seven' Rating's Dips After Delay
Due to the Chuseok holiday and celebration of Asian Games 2023, several TV shows postponed their broadcast, including the SBS weekend K-drama "The Escaoe of the Seven."
As they returned for the 7th episode, "The Escape of the Seven" experienced a slight decrease in rating.

After bouncing back to a 7.3 percent nationwide rating for the 6th episode, the mystery thriller series garnered an average nationwide rating of 6.8 percent, only a few points below its previous episode.
Interestingly, with the latest report from Neilse Korea, the rating race for the Friday drama is a close fight between "The Escape of the Seven" and "My Dearest," part 2.
Cameos to Look Forward to in 'The Escape of the Seven' and 'My Dearest' Part 2
As the historical romance series kicks off its second part, MBC teases viewers with the special appearance of Yoo Jae Suk and the rest of "How Do You Play? "in "My Dearest," part 2.
Other than the veteran host, joining the historical series for a cameo are HaHa, Lee Yi Kyung, Park Jin Joo, Lovelyz's Mijoo, and Joo Woo Jae.
Although they didn't reveal which episode they would be part of, viewers are curious about the characters the cast will portray.
As for "The Escape of the Seven," SBS announced the special participation of Kim So Yeon in the series.
It's unclear whether she will reprise her role as primadonna Cheon Seo Jin in "The Penthouse," but one thing is for sure: viewers are excited to see her on the small screen.
