Just when tvN's "Twinkling Watermelon" closes its first half of broadcast, the drama stumbles on a slight bump and sees a slight dip in viewership scores.

Despite its intriguing elements and shocking plot twists, the drama fails to draw high scores that would take the show out of its slump.

tvN's youth romance drama "Twinkling Watermelon" ratings dip to an all-time low with its newest episode.

The drama received great reception from fans all around the world since its premiere and for four weeks, "Twinkling Watermelon" has been among the hottest works in Hallyu.

Unfortunately, the show failed to record a new personal best with its latest episode that aired on Tuesday, October 17.

"Twinkling Watermelon" episode 8 received an average rating of 3%, seeing a slight dip from its previous score of 3.5%. In addition to that, the recorded rating is 0.1% short of the drama's pilot rating, which marks its lowest score yet.

As it enters its second half in the final week of October, "Twinkling Watermelon" is expected to bounce back from the bump and continue to deliver a refreshing, youth watching experience.

In the new episode, Seol In Ah's Choi Se Kyung reveals that she's actually On Eun Yoo, the daughter of Choi Se Kyung who traveled through time to change the past.

Unfortunately, she and Ryeoun's Ha Eun Gyeol aren't on the same boat as the latter plans to preserve the future without changing anything.

As On Eun Yoo sabotages everything connected to her mother, Ha Eun Gyeol patches things up one by one, Shin Eun Soo's Yoon Chung Ah and Choi Hyun Wook's Ha Lee Chan included.

At the end of the episode, the father and son duo engage in a silent war of nerves as Ha Eun Gyeol declares his affection for Choi Se Kyung, hinting at a painful change in their lives.

'Twinkling Watermelon' Tops Most Buzzworthy Dramas

Despite its decline in viewership ratings, "Twinkling Watermelon" managed to best some of the most talked-about works in prime time.

According to Good Data Corporation, the tvN series topped the most buzzworthy dramas list, besting highly rated works like "Destined With You" and "Strong Girl Nam Soon."

In addition, its cast Choi Hyun Wook, Ryeoun and Shin Eun Soo were named as the top stars who created huge buzz in Hallyu, ranking at No. 3, No. 6 and No. 9, respectively.
