'Love Reset' Remains Blockbuster in Korea + Movie to Be Available Overseas

This October, the romantic-comedy "Love Reset," starring Kang Ha Neul and Jung So Min, topped the box office and is consistent at No. 1 for three consecutive weeks.

"Love Reset," also known as "30 Days," continues to be an unrivaled box office run in theaters, and is also drawing keen attention from overseas as well.

According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), it attracted around 246,000 moviegoers from Friday to Sunday, accounting for 40.3 percent of total ticket sales. It even passed its break-even point after its cumulative number of viewers surpassed 1.6 million.

The rom-com movie follows the story of Jung Yeol and Nara, a married couple who suffers from memory loss in the wake of a car accident, 30 days before their planned divorce.

In addition, due to the ongoing popularity of the movie, it was announced that "Love Reset" will have a Chinese remake.

A copyright for the adaptation of the film was already signed. It is rumored that a competent veteran production company, which produced more than 50 films in the Chinese film industry over a decade and has achieved remarkable box office success in China will handle the upcoming remake of "Love Reset."

The partner business team overseas Barunson E&A, which is in charge of overseas sales of "Love Reset" said, "We expected a high interest in remakes because the movie has a unique concept, setting up situations where people burst into laughter and attractive characters."

They added that from the first introduction of the market overseas, the production actively pitched to various production companies abroad, and the response was intense.

Aside from China, there is a possibility that additional remakes from various regions such as Southeast Asia, France, and the United States continue to ask for remakes.

Since the movie has been at the top of the box office since its release date in Korea, overseas distributors are also stepping up preparations for its release with high expectations.
