BLACKPINK's Jisoo is having her first lead-star role in the movie "Omniscient Reader."

Following her successful K-drama debut through "Snowdrop" with Jung Hae In and her first appearance for a cameo in the movie "Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman," viewers and fans will get to see the idol-actress alongside top stars as she joins the star-studded film.

However, amid the exciting announcement of Jisoo's new movie, it seemed like not everyone was thrilled to see her on the big screen.

Industry insiders shared that the 28-year-old BLACKPINK member was selected as part of the cast of "Omniscient Reader."

Following this, Jisoo's agency, YG Entertainment, confirmed the news and shared that she has received an offer and is positively reviewing it.

If she officially accepts the offer, the idol actress will take on the role of Lee Ji Hye is a student who is connected to Yoo Joong Hyuk.

In addition, Jisoo will be joining the star-studded cast of "Omniscient Reader," with lead stars including Lee Min Ho and Ahn Hyo Seop, as well as "The Glory" star Jung Sung Il, veteran actor Park Ho San, Chae Soo Bin, Nana, and Shin Seung Ho.

 Furthermore, Jisoo's new movie reportedly has a budget production of 30 billion won, or 22,338,400 USD.

Netizens Unhappy With BLACKPINK Jisoo's Casting in 'Omniscient Reader'

After the news broke, #Jisoo became a trending topic on Twitter, with the majority of fans expressing how excited they were to see the BLACKPINK member showcase her versatility in acting.

Unfortunately, not all seemed impressed with Jisoo's next project as netizens air their dismay on online communities.

As obtained by a news portal, some point out that the idol actress doesn't suit the character of Lee Ji Hye, while others note that tapping the BLACKPINK member to join the webtoon-based film "seems like a really weak casting choice for a movie."

On the other hand, others mentioned that they are looking forward to seeing'Omniscient Reader" on the big screen, but not until Jisoo joins as one of the  cast members.

While her career continues to flourish, BLACKPINK's Jisoo and Ahn Bo Hyun have reportedly parted ways.

After confirming their relationship in August, an industry representative revealed that the couple broke up as their "relationship naturally became distant due to their busy schedules."

The shocking news was confirmed by BLACKPINK's agency, YG Entertainment, stating, "It is true that Jisoo and Ahn Bo Hyun broke up."
