After Ji Chang Wook's decision not to star in "Fine," the filming of the webtoon-based K-drama will be pushed back to 2024.

Ji Chang Wook has decided not to headline the upcoming K-drama "Fine."

After it was reported that the South Korean actor was selected to star in the webtoon-based series, the 36-year-old actor will no longer join Ryu Seung Ryong as one of the main leads.

In an exclusive report cited by Ten Asia, an industry official told the outlet that Ji Chang Wook officially turned down the offer due to "various issues."

Meanwhile, an official from the actor's label clarified that the parties have resolved the concern regarding the artist and forthcoming project.

"It was recently resolved with the production team that he would finally reject the role."

Due to this, the report also cited that the production of the K-drama "will also be pushed back to next year" after it was scheduled to begin filming in the second half of 2023.

It can be recalled that Ji Chang Wook's agency, Spring Company, previously shared that "Fine" was among the projects that the actor received an offer for.

At the time, he was selected to play the role of Hee Dong, Gwan Seok's newphew, offered to Ryu Seung Ryong.

As for the "Moving" star, it is yet to be confirmed if he officially accepts the offer.

As mentioned, "Fine" is an upcoming webtoon-based K-drama created by Yoon Tae Ho, who is also the genius behind the webtoon "Misaeng."

The story depicts the story of a treasure hunting journey where a ship sailed to the West Sea, carrying a 200-ton merchant ship that included a large collection of artifacts.

After his K-drama comeback, "The Worst of Evil," with Wi Ha Joon and Im Se Mi, viewers will get to see more of Ji Chang Wook in the coming year as he is set to star in a back-to-back K-drama.

One of his next series is the romance-life drama "Welcome to Samdalri."

Ji Chang Wook will be teaming up alongside Shin Hye Sun as they play childhood friends who grew up in a small town.

Ji Chang Wook, an undercover agent in "The Worst of Evil," transforms into a local weather forecaster in their hometown.

Helmed by Cha Young Hoon of "Uncontrollably Fond," "When the Camellia Blooms," and "Forecasting Love and Weather," the upcoming K-drama "Welcome to Samdalri" is slated to premiere in December 2022.

In addition to his forthcoming series, he is also set to headline the historical K-drama "Queen Woo" with Kim Mu Yeol, Lee Soo Hyuk, Jeon Jong Seo, and more, which is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2024.
