Girl's Day Minah On Becoming Hallyu Actress

On October 31, Girl's Day Minah appeared as a guest on Uhm Jung Hwa's YouTube channel. The idol-actress opened up about her long-running career.

According to Minah, she didn't expect to become a popularly known girl group member and an actress. Growing up, she dreamed of becoming a singer. She even described her debut as a "disaster."

Minah experienced many difficulties as a rookie, which made her think about quitting one too many times. Thankfully, the public welcomed them warmly.

With the success of their songs "Female President," "Expectation" and "Something," Minah ventured into the acting scene to widen her horizon and debuted with "Beautiful Gong Shim."

Up until this writing, the drama is still one of the best idol-actor works in the Hallyu scene. Minah also thinks highly of her drama debut as it was a "huge challenge" for her.

"I never wanted to be an actress but it only made sense for me to go up," Minah confessed. "I cried like a baby once again after making my acting debut. I thought it was betrayal."

What's Next For Girl's Day Minah?

Earlier this 2023, Minah returned to prime time with the thriller comedy drama "Delivery Man" with "All of Us Are Dead" superstar Yoon Chan Young.

In the drama, Minah transformed into a ghost who rides a taxi who picks up ghosts in order for them to send their families closure before finally arriving at their final destinations.

"Delivery Man" is one of the most underrated works this year, but it is certainly worthy of checking out, thanks to its intriguing narrative. Catch it now on Viu.

In addition, Minah also made her comeback to the silver screens with Uhm Jung Hwa in "Miss Fortune," where they played a mother and daughter duo who work as swindlers for a living.

It premiered on October 11 in cinemas nationwide. There's no news about its international release yet so stay tuned for more updates.
