Im Siwan opted for a unique way to celebrate his new achievement after completing the 10-kilometer Chuncheon Marathon.

According to a local media outlet, the actor joined as one of the participants in the 2023 Chuncheon Marathon in Gangwon-do, held on October 29, where the "Tracer" star finished the course in 45 minutes and 21 seconds.

As part of his achievement, the 34-year-old actor made a heartfelt donation.

As mentioned by the outlet, Im Siwan has donated 10 million won to the Seungil Hope Foundation.

The said donation will be used to fund the first Lou Gehrig Nursing Hospital in South Korea, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2023.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Im Siwan has participated in a marathon for a good cause.

In August 2023, he joined a running crew where 815 runners participated in the event to commemorate Liberation Day.

Im Siwan's participation helped the group influence a lot of people to continue marathoning as a hobby.

In addition, fans of his movie "Boston 1947" have also developed a healthy hobby of running, showing a positive influence on the actor.

What's Next for Im Siwan?

As mentioned, Im Siwan starred in the sports-themed movie "Boston 1947," also known as "Road to Boston," along with Ha Jung Woo.

It focuses on the story of the Korean national marathoners who are determined to be part of the international event marking Korea's first marathon after the country's liberation during World War 2.

Ha Jung Woo plays the role of Sohn Kee Chung. The 1936 Berlin Olympics gold medalist Sohn Kee Chung mentors his junior Suh Yun Bok, played by Im Siwan, a member of the national team who is set for a remarkable win at the 1947 Boston Marathon.

Released on September 27, "Boston 1947" received favorable reviews from viewers and critics.

As for his preparation for portraying the challenging role, the actor said he had to lower his body fat percentage through regular exercise and a special diet.

"I only eat chicken breast until I get fed up with it," he said.

In addition, the actor shared that he continues running marathons even after the production is concluded.

Other than his movie, Im Siwan will be returning to the small screen with an interesting character.

The actor joins the highly anticipated season of "Squid Game 2" along with returning and new cast members.

Besides Lee Jung Hae, Lee Byung Hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha Joon, the cast of "Squid Game" season 2 includes Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Gyu Young, Park Sung Hoon, T.O.P., Lee Jin Wook, and more.
