Lee Joon Hyuk Says Filming ‘Vigilante’ Feels Less Pressure Than ‘The Roundup: No Way Out’ – Here’s Why

Lee Joon Hyuk talked about the difference between filming his new K-drama "Vigilante" and the hit movie "The Roundup: No Way Out."

The 39-year-old celebrity detailed his experience filming the webtoon-based series, and mentioned Ma Dong Seok's movie, in which Lee Joon Hyuk played as the villain.

Lee Joo Hyuk Compares 'Vigilante' To 'The Roundup: No Way Out'

In an interview with a news outlet, the actor discussed the differences between filming both projects despite having almost the same genre, action and crime.

According to Lee Joon Hyuk, he was less pressure while filming "Vigilante." One factor in this was the lineup of stars. But the actor showed great gratitude for being part of "The Roundup" sequel.

"'Vigilante' had Ji Tae Hyung, So Jin noona, and Joo Hyuk, so the burden was relatively less. Rather, I'm very thankful for "The Roundup 3.'"

In the upcoming K-drama, Lee Joon Hyuk stars alongside Nam Joo Hyuk, "Money Heist Korea" star Yoo Ji Tae, and Kim So Jin as lead stars.

As for the movie sequel, Ma Dong Seok returned as detective Ma Suk Do, alongside Japanese actor Aoki Munetaka as one of the new cast members. Other than his co-stars, the actor also mentioned the distinction between "The Roundup" sequel and "Vigilante.

According to him, the movie focused on punishment, whereas the webtoon-based K-drama "is a way of thinking that if there is a problem."

'Vigilante' Cast, Release Date

Joining a slew of K-dramas premiering this November, "Vigilante" is based on the webtoon of the same name that depicts the story of a model police student Kim Ji Yong, played by Nam Joo Hyuk, who lives a double life. He is a student by day and works as a vigilante at night, punishing criminals who escaped the law.

Joining him is Yoo Ji Tae, who plays as detective Cho Heon. His mission is to chase the mysterious man who everyone calls Vigilante.

As for Lee Joo Hyuk, he takes on the role of a chaebol named Cho Kang Ok. He is the vice chairman of DK Group and a fan of Vigilante. His lifelong dream is to become a superhero, and he feels excited every time he sees news about the mysterious vigilante. 

In a previous interview, Lee Joon Hyuk said that he took on the offer to play the role of Cho Heon because of the character's "unique" characteristics.

Slated to air on November 8, the 8-episode K-drama airs every Wednesday exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.
