"Youth of May" is a mix of heart-fluttering and heartbreaking romance between Hwang Hee Tae, played by Lee Do Hyun, and Kim Myung Hee, portrayed by Go Min Si.

Based on the true story, the KBS2 series dates back to the 1980s, during one of Korea's darkest times, the Gwangju Uprising.

Lee Doo Hyun takes on the role of Seoul National University's top medical student, Hwang Hee Tae, who came from a wealthy family.

He falls in love with the passionate local nurse named Kim Myung Hee, played by Go Min Si.

Unfortunately, their budding romance was affected by the whirlwind events in Gwangju.

Although the drama ended with average viewership ratings of 4.6 and 5.6 percent for metropolitan and nationwide, the "Youth of May" ending gained a lot of buzz at the time because of the unexpected story between the lead characters.

Two years have passed. Let's look at the current and upcoming projects of the "Youth of May" cast, featuring Lee Do Hyun, Go Min Si, Lee Sang Yi, and Geum Sae Rok.

Shortly after "Youth of May" ended, Lee Do Hyun landed his then-new K-drama "Melancholia" with Im Soo Jung.

However, it was the revenge K-drama "The Glory," which aired in 2022, where the actor garnered massive attention from viewers.
