Han Hyo Joo Reveals Overwhelming Support of ‘Moving’ Fans to Her New Movie: ‘Bong Seok’s mom is getting bad’

Han Hyo Joo acknowledged the fans' support for her new movie, "Believer 2."

During the press conference, the actress, along with co-stars Jo Jin Woong, Cha Seung Won, and Oh Seung Hoon, and director Baek Jong Yeol, shared their experiences and expectations about the soon-to-be-released film.

Han Hyo Joo Takes on New Character in 'Believer 2'

The actress never fails to amaze viewers with her transformation, regardless of the role. However, in "Believer 2," she appeared in a completely different and challenging role.

As obtained by a news portal, she tells the press the reason that prompted her to accept the offer.

"I agreed to join this project with my trust in the director since we already worked together in 'Beauty Inside,'" she said, referring to her role as Big Knife.

According to Han Hyo Joo, she finds the completely new character challenging, so she took it. While the upcoming movie is the sequel to the 2018 film, Big Knife is a new character featured in the second installment. She described her role as someone who "wants to protect Mr. Lee," played by Cha Seung Won.

Han Hyo Joo Talks About Preparation for 'Believer 2'

Viewers were surprised to see the huge transformation of Han Hyo Joo, especially her physique, as she takes on the role of Big Knife.

According to her, she had to pay attention to her build and body because most of the time her abs and body were exposed to highlight Big Knife's battle scars.

"It was very difficult to build a body for such scenes," Han Hyo Joo admitted, adding that it was harder to develop that body compared to doing action scenes.

The actress also mentioned that there were times when she cried while running on the treadmill, adding that the preparations "were not easy at all."

In addition to this, she also had to polish her Chinese skills and take lessons for them.

Han Hyo Joo Overwhelmed by Huge Support from 'Moving' Fans

Amid all this, Han Hyo Joo's hard work pays off after her character in "Believer 2" attracts huge attention.

After the trailer for "Believer 2" was released, Han Hyo Joo said that she "almost cried" after watching it.

Meanwhile, the actress also mentioned the support she gets from fans of "Moving." According to her, people would still refer to her as Bong Seok's mom.

"Some people commented like 'Bong-seok's mom is getting bad', 'Looks like Bong-seok's adolescence hit her hard', etc. I'm glad to have a chance to present a new side of me. You may be surprised when you see it, but I think it will give you a new experience."

It can be recalled that Han Hyo Joo played her first mother role in Disney+'s "Moving" taking on the role of Lee Mi Hyun, the mother of Lee Jung Ha's character.

On the other hand, viewers get to watch "Believer 2" via Netflix on November 17th.
