Gracing Star1's December 2023 issue, Rowoon talked about his experience filming his new K-drama "The Matchmakers" and working on his back-to-back series in 2023.

Headlining various projects for the past couple of years, the South Korean hearthrob seemed to be enjoying working on different character ads as well as being with fellow stars.

In his interview with the publication, Rowoon shared his thoughts about his preparations and working relationship with "The Matchmakers" co-star Cho Yi Hyun.

Rowoon on Working With Cho Yi Hyun

In KBS2's historical K-drama, Rowoon takes on the role of Shin Jung Woo, an intelligent young man who managed to be the youngest participant to rank first in the state examination.

He sets out to marry a princess, but his fate changes when his fiancé dies during the ceremony.

Due to Joseon period custom, Shin Jung Woo can't remarry and will not be able to take the government post. This is where he gets involved with a widow named Jung Soon Deok, played by Cho Ji Hyun.

As mentioned by the publication, Rowoon is used to working alongside older female co-stars like Kim Hee Sun in "Tomorrow" and Park Eun Bin in "The King's Affection."

Interestingly, the idol actor had his way of looking almost the same age as Choi Yi Hyun, who is 23. Through his interview, he revealed how he prepared for the series.

"In the drama, Yi Hyun appears older than me, so I gained about 3kg to look cute."

Speaking of preparation, other than the visuals to match the character, Rowoon made sure to memorize his lines before the filming started.
