Shin Eun Soo On Playing First-Ever Deaf Role

On November 20, Shin Eun Soo got candid in an interview and shared her most memorable moments in her recently concluded youth drama "Twinkling Watermelon."

In the series, she challenged herself and played the role Yoon Chung Ah, a deaf high school student. Her character was deeply loved due to the beautiful development throughout the show.

Unbeknownst to the fans, it wasn't easy to play a character who's hard of hearing. The young star stated that immersing herself in a situation she had never experienced before was difficult.

"I acted while thinking primarily as Yoon Chung Ah," Shin Eun Soo shared. "I ignored the sounds around me and totally played the part."

Although it was difficult for the most part, Shin Eun Soo still enjoyed her time. She discovered new things after she studied her character through books and films about a deaf person.

In addition, the actress also made a core memory when she took sign language lessons for the drama, which earned her a quality that will stay with her forever.

Thanks to her dedication, her sign language teacher as well as the viewers of the drama have nothing but high praises for her as a rising star.

Here's Why Shin Eun Soo Regrets 'Twinkling Watermelon' Ending

At the finale, "Twinkling Watermelon" wrapped up the season with Ryeoun and Seol In Ah's characters reuniting in the present time.

However, not a lot of scenes were focused on Choi Hyun Wook and Shin Eun Soo, which disappointed the avid viewers.

Surprisingly, they're not the only ones with regrets as Shin Eun Soo was also disappointed with the ending of the drama.

"I was curious how Yoon Chung Ah and Ha Lee Chan (Choi Hyun Wook) dated and married one another," the actress said. "It would have been nicer if their marriage was shared with the viewers."

Despite that, "Twinkling Watermelon" was still a huge success and it has become one of the best healing works of the year.
