With the success of Park Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young's "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon," JTBC released a spin-off, "Strong Girl Namsoon," that focuses on three generations of strong women.
While both series have different premises, viewers got hooked on how Kang Nam Soon and the rest of the family used their powers for a good cause.
However, after the rom-com series wrapped up the season, fans expressed mixed reactions about the drama but left praise for one supporting character.
Viewers Want JTBC to Release 'Strong Girl Geum Joo'
Kim Jung Eun returns to the small screen three years after landing the lead role in the psychological thriller K-drama "My Dangerous Wife."
From being the dotting wife Shim Jae Kyung, she transforms into a fearless and, not to mention, a hotshot business woman in "Strong Girl Namsoon" as she takes on the role of Hwang Geum Joo.

A self-made millionaire, she uses her strength and wealth to fight crimes, especially fraud and illegal drugs.
Unfortunately, despite the show garnering a double-digit rating on its finale episode, some of the viewers seemed disappointed with how the story went.
On Reddit, users expressed their dislike regarding the premise of the JTBC spin-off.
Others even labeled "Strong Girl Namsoon" as "one of the worst shows in kdrama history," but regardless of the negative feedback, Kim Jung Eun gets praised for her remarkable role.
With this, viewers wanted the upcoming spin-off to focus on Hwang Geum Joo and to give "older women protagonism" roles.
As for some, fans pointed out how Kim Jung Eun aced the comedic character of Geum Joo and, at the same time, her authoritative attitude as the girl boss.
'Strong Girl' Spin-Off: Details and Update About the Highly Anticipated Sequel
A week before "Strong Girl Namsoon" aired its finale episode, industry insiders shared the plans of JTBC to add a third installment to the "Strong Girl" series.
As mentioned by a media outlet in November 2023, the network is currently in the planning stage.
Meanwhile, JTBC released a statement addressing the reports regarding an upcoming spin-off, confirming the network's plan for it.
"We have plans for another installment, but we are currently concentrating on writing another project."
Interestingly, viewers have different speculations after the "Strong Girl Namsoon" ending.
In the last scene, Hwang Geum Joo visits Yun Hui, played by Oh Nara, and talks about seeing the help of her son, Choong Dong.
Viewers believe that the upcoming spin-off might feature a male version after the character showed undeniable strength, similar to Nam Soon and Do Bong Soon's family.
Although JTBC has not responded to this, fans seemed adamant about it and didn't want a male character to be the highlight of the "Strong Girl" spin-off.
