Park Seo Joon opened up about his career and talked about the struggles he faced during his early years in the industry.

During a live broadcast of Producing Director Na Yeong Seok on his YouTube channel, Fullmoon, the "Itaewon Class" star dished on his humble beginnings and his journey now that he is one of Korea's top stars.

Park Seo Joon Talks About His Love for Fans: 'I'm so thankful'

Before his first Hollywood project, Park Seo Joon was well loved by fans both locally and internationally because of his notable performances in the K-dramas "She Was Pretty," "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim," "Itaewon Class," and more.

According to the actor, he wouldn't get to where he is now without his fans.

Expressing his gratitude to his passionate supporters, he acknowledges the "unconditional love" that fans have given him since day one.

"When I think about it, those who like me are not idol fans. I have fans who always support me, and when I see them, I can't help but work hard. I'm so thankful."

He also recognized the "energy and love" and sometimes wonders why people root for him so much.

Park Seo Joon on the Struggles of Being Actor

The South Korean heartthrob has had his fair share of ups and downs throughout his career.

According to the actor, one of the "most difficult" aspects of his work is rejecting offers. If there's an option, he would rather undergo an audition process than reject a project.

The actor explained the reason behind it and said that declining an offer is part of his work but is something that is challenging for him.

"Recently, with the introduction of the 52-hour workweek system, it takes almost a year for one project. So, rejecting is something I have to do, but the process is very difficult."

Interestingly, he has a way to do it professionally, and that is time.

"Rejection must be done quickly. Holding onto the script for two to three weeks is not a courtesy to the producers."

Speaking of declining roles, Park Seo Joon once talked about his hiatus from doing rom-coms.

Why Park Seo Joon Skips Rom-Com K-Dramas

In a previous interview, the top star said that he will focus on other genres because he has done "so many rom-coms" throughout his career.

Park Seo Joon's last rom-com series is with Park Min Young for the hit K-drama "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?"

On the other hand, the celebrity stars in multiple projects in 2023.

Other than "The Marvels," his first Hollywood project, Park Seo Joon returns to the small screen with Han So He for "​​Gyeongseong Creature."

Slated to air on Netflix, the upcoming action historical K-drama premieres on December 22, airing every Friday.
