Park Min Young Reveals How She Endured Drastic Transformation in ‘Marry My Husband’
Park Min Young dished on her experience, especially her preparations for filming her K-drama comeback "Marry My Husband."
The Hallyu star surprised the public with her drastic transformation as she takes on the role of Kang Ji Won.
In the drama, Park Min Young embraces the dark character as well as the challenges that Kang Ji Won faced.
"Marry My Husband" showcases Kang Ji Won's transformation from a terminally-ill patient to a revenge-driven wife.
With this, the 37-year-old star chose to undergo physical changes, which included shedding weight.
Park Min Young Reveals How She Survived Weight Transformation in 'Marry My Husband'
In an interview, Park Min Young shared that she purposely lost weight to fit her character.
The detailed approach surprised the public after the actress had a noticeably thinner physique.
Since "Marry My Husband" also highlights Kang Ji Won's battle with cancer, the actress explained her reason for losing weight.
"I attempted weight loss not just for the sake of being thin but to express Kang Ji-won's dead-end pain," Park Min Young explained, as obtained by a local media outlet.
With this, the actress explained that she endured this "by drinking sports drinks" throughout the filming process. The actress' commitment to her character caused her to lose 37 kilograms.
It can be recalled that her physique sparked major concern as the actress showcased her noticeably thin physique. At the time, she was criticized for losing "too much weight," but Park Min Young chose not to reveal the reason behind it.

Other than Park Min Young's weight loss, she also changed her hairstyle as part of Kang Ji Won's transition for her revenge against her husband.
In addition to her usual long hair, the actress opts for a short bob, highlighting the character's appearance as she enters her second life.
This only showed how dedicated Park Min Young is to conveying the character of Kang Ji Won.
'Marry My Husband' Cast and Release Date
The webtoon-based K-drama is among the much-awaited series in 2024.
Apart from Park Min Young starring in her first revenge drama, "Marry My Husband" also showcases an amazing cast lineup.
Lee Yi Kyung takes on the role of Kang Ji Won's husband, Park Min Hwan, who had an affair with his wife's best friend, Jung Soo Min, portrayed by Song Ha Yoon.
As for Na In Woo, he plays as Kang Ji Won's boss, Yoo Ji Hyuk, whom she met in her second life. The series will also depict their team-up as they unravel Ji Won's revenge plan.
Adding to the list of "Marry My Husband" is Lee Gi Kwang, who has harbored feelings for Kang Ji Won since high school.
Park Min Young's new drama is scheduled to be released on January 1, airing every Monday and Tuesday.
