'When Life Gives You Tangerines' Update: IU & Park Bo Gum's K-Drama To Meet Fans Soon
"When Life Gives You Tangerines," also known as "You Have Done Well," which stars Park Bo Gum and IU, teased fans with a new update!
On January 30, the drama's production dropped photos of the main protagonists holding the scripts for the series.
"When Life Gives You Tangerines" is penned by hit writer Lim Sang Chun, the creative mind behind "Fight for My Way" and "When the Camellia Blooms.
Joining her in this project is Kim Won Seok to direct the series. He is the genius behind "My Mister," "Misaeng (Incomplete Life)," and "Signal."
"When Life Gives You Tangerines" follows the adventurous life stories of Ae Sun and Gwan Sik who were born and raised on the beautiful island of Jeju in the 1950s.
IU & Park Bo Gum's Characters in 'When Life Gives You Tangerines'
IU is Ae Sun, a bold and rebellious lady who loves to write poetry. She is an ambitious and fierce person who fights against her given fate.
Opposite her is Park Bo Gum, who will immerse himself in the character of Gwan Sik, a quiet and reliable man. He prefers to express himself through actions rather than words.
IU is known for her roles in "Hotel Del Luna," "My Mister," "Broker," "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," "Dream," and more.
This will also be a reunion project for IU and Director Kim Won Seok after they collaborated for the first time in "My Mister."
Veteran stars Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon are also confirmed to headline the series. They attended the script reading with the lead stars IU and Park Bo Gum.
Furthermore, the added cast members are expected to take the roles of Ae Sun and Gwan Sik when they are older.
'When Life Gives You Tangerines' To Air on Netflix
Aside from the delivered news by the media outlets in Korea, it was confirmed that "When Life Gives You Tangerines" is set to air on the online streaming giant Netflix.
To recall, in 2023, the drama already started production, and people even spotted the upcoming online tandem filming some of the scenes in their series.
K-drama fans are already looking forward to seeing IU and Park Bo Gum as on-screen partners. Anticipation also increases to what kind of synergy this new tandem will show.
