Park Ji Hyun Gets in Shape After Gaining Weight for ‘Flex X Cop’

Despite her busy schedule, Park Ji Hyun ensures to keep her body in tip-top shape by working out, and in her case, she prefers ballet as her form of exercise.

The actress, who stars in the new K-drama "Flex X Cop," updated her Instagram followers with a sneak peek of her day in life.

Park Ji Hyun Instagram Showcase Ballet Skills

Showcasing a glimpse of her life behind the camera, Park Ji Hyun shared a series of photos during her ballet class.

In her Instagram update, she featured a selfie wearing tights, pointe shoes, a leotard, and a skirt for easy movement.

In the comments section, fans seemed surprised to see her in a ballet outfit. Some even asked if she was changing her career from actress to ballerina.

However, Park Ji Hyun does ballet as one of her exercises. She considers this her private hobby, which helps her achieve the effect of "gaining muscle and reducing fat."

On her social media, she often shares photos of her inside the studio as well as videos featuring her ballet drills.

On top of that, she also does ballet dancing alongside fellow actress Park Gyu Young.

Park Ji Hyun Gains Weight for 'Flex X Cop' Role

Currently, the 29-year-old actress headlines the action-comedy drama "Flex X Cop," alongside Ahn Bo Hyun.

Park Ji Hyun takes on the role of fearless detective Lee Kang Hyun, working for the violent investigative team at the Kangha Police Station.

As for the actor, he plays third-generation chaebol Jin Yi Soo, who unexpectedly becomes a member of the police force after being caught up in a complicated murder case. With this, he had to work hand in hand with Detective Lee, who seemed adamant about his capacity.

Prior to the show's premiere, Park Ji Hyun purposely gained weight to play Lee Kang Hyun.

In an interview cited by Ten Asia, she chose "Flex X Cop" as her next K-drama project because she saw this as an "attractive work that encompasses many genres."

However, she admitted that she felt "nervous" after knowing that the character is a detective.

"I'm very excited to show off a new character, but I'm also nervous because it's my first time acting as a detective, so it's not easy."

For her preparations, Park Ji Hyun revealed going to action school to work on her movements.

On top of it, she gained about 7kg, which made her look stronger and a perfect fit for a police officer.

"Although there were many difficult points, I did my best."

"Flex X Cop" is Park Ji Hyun and Ahn Bo Hyun's second project together. The duo starred in the webtoon-based K-drama "Yumi's Cells" with Kim Go Eun.
