Song Kang is the latest K-drama heartthrob who will be joining the military in 2024. In a statement released by his agency, the "Sweet Home" star is preparing for his enlistment. 

Song Kang Enlistment: Details on Actor's Military Fulfillment

Namoo Actors officially announced Song Kang's plan to complete his military service.

As part of Korean law, male citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 must perform 18-21 months of military service.

Meanwhile, Song Kang's agency released a notice regarding the actor's enlistment, confirming that the actor "will be enlisting as an active duty soldier of the [Republic of Korea] Army on Tuesday, April 2."

In addition, Namoo Actors advised the fans and public that "there will be no official events held when he enters the recruit training center," as the "Nevertheless" star will enlist privately.

Expressing their deep gratitude and understanding to fans, the agency also "asks for the warm love and support of many people in order for Song Kang to return in good health with greater maturity after diligently completing his mandatory service."

Besides Song Kang, several other stars are also expected to enlist in the military in 2024. This includes Hwang Min Hyun, who was also confirmed to be fulfilling his military service on March 21.

The same goes for "Marry My Husband" star Na In Woo, who has requested to postpone his enlistment to join the cast and crew for a reward vacation in Vietnam this March.

Song Kang's first K-drama on Netflix is the rom-com series "Love Alarm" with Kim So Hyun.

Based on the webtoon, the story depicts the friendship turned romance between two high school students over a mobile app called Love Alarm.

Other than "Love Alarm," Song Kang also headlined the Netflix original series "Sweet Home."

Taking on the role of Cha Hyun Soo, he is the newbie at the Green House Apartment who experienced the post-apocalypse along with his neighbors.

The K-drama received favorable reviews, and Song Kang reprised his role for three seasons.
