Ryu Seung Ryong Dishes On Reasons For Starring In ‘Chicken Nugget’: ‘I have never…’

Ryu Seung Ryong is back with another acting project with renowned director Lee Byung Hun. The two worked together for the first time in the smash hit film "Extreme Job."

This 2024, they team up in the newest Netflix show "Chicken Nugget," alongside with Hallyu superstars Ahn Jae Hong and Kim Yoo Jung.

Ryu Seung Ryong Reveals Reason For Starring In 'Chicken Nugget'

On March 13, Ryu Seung Ryong was in attendance at the press conference for Netflix's "Chicken Nugget," his brand new show this year.

In the series, he transforms into a dedicated businessman whose beloved daughter becomes a chicken nugget after entering a mysterious machine inside his company.

Ryu Seung Ryong shared his thoughts on participating, saying, "The story about a father's struggles to save his daughter piqued my interest. It was very charming. It's something that goes beyond what I have always done."

The drama is directed by Lee Byung Hun whom he worked with before in "Extreme Job" in 2019. Ryu Seung Ryong described the filmmaker as a "languid genius."

In particular, the actor, who once again meets chickens in his works, made the public laugh by referring to them as "grateful animals."

To recall, Ryu Seung Ryong's roles in "Extreme Job," "Moving" and now, "Chicken Nugget," are all connected to chickens. However, he promises that every work is different from one another.

"This time, I went beyond imagination and stereotypes," he shared. "I worked hard for the project to showcase a different side of myself that viewers haven't seen before."

Ryu Seung Ryong On What To Expect From 'Chicken Nugget'

Ryu Seung Ryong also pointed out the key things to check out for in the new Netflix series.

Besides the fun and colorful narrative of a father trying to save his beloved daughter, the chemistry between his character and Ahn Jae Hong's is also a factor to anticipate.

In the series, Ahn Jae Hong plays one of his employees who has a secret crush on his daughter. He said, "Ahn Jae Hong and I always act seamlessly together. It's an amazing experience."

Ryu Seung Ryong also shared that they act on site without rehearsal, proving their sterling skills as actors. With that said, make sure to check out "Chicken Nugget" this March 15.
