‘Physical: 100’ Season 2 Producer Reveals Interesting Reason for Re-Casting Hong Beom Seok

"Physical: 100" season 2 producer spills secrets behind the success of the Netflix reality show. 

The South Korean survival show wrapped up the season, with Amotti being hailed as the new winner. 

In an interview, producer Jang Ho Gi, along with "Physical: 100" Season 2 cast Hong Beom Seok, Amotti, and Andre Jin, shared their experiences on the reality series. 

The Return of Hong Beom Seok in 'Physical: 100' Season 2

"Physical: 100 Season 2 - Underground" showcased familiar faces in the industry. 

From Olympians and sport icons like Lee Won Hee, Kim Dong Hyun, and Jung Ji Hyun to celebrities like Lee Jae Yoon, Kang So Yeon, and more, the second season featured a diverse lineup of participants.

However, what surprised the contestants the most was the return of Hong Beom Seok from Season 1. 

To recall, the former firefighter and special forces soldier had an early elimination after losing to Jo Jin Hyeong.

However, in Season 2, Hong Beom Seok surprised the viewers with his intense determination and strength to win the game. 

In the interview, the reality star admitted that he debated whether or not to join the new season and was worried that he might experience the painful loss again, just like in the previous season. 

"In Season 1, they sent me home without mercy after losing. The same situation could be repeated in Season 2, and if that happens, I feel it would be mentally too taxing for me."

What pushed Hong Beom Seok to avoid the feeling of "what if '' and "regret" if he didn't try. 

"Thanks to the opportunity to be on Season 2, I made such unforgettable memories," he added. 

As for Physical: 100" Season 2 producer, Jang Ho Gi said that he didn't plan on recasting previous players, but what pushed them was the public request to invite Hong Beom Seok. 

"We didn't plan to call back Season 1's participants because there were so many applicants already, but there were a lot of requests for Hong to return."

Lo and behold, his presence in the competition is one of the significant aspects in season 2. 

Because of his will to win, Hong Beom Seok placed first runner-up, leaving crossfit athlete Amotti as the winner. 

Will There Be 'Physical: 100' Season 3? 

While viewers witnessed a bold and mind-blowing season, the last clip of the second season hints at the possibility of "Physical: 100" season 3 being renewed. 

For the show's producer, he revealed that the renewal "hasn't been finalized yet" but mentioned that the possibility of creating a third season is in discussion. 

In addition, producer Jang Ho Gi teased fans by hinting that the third season might have a new format and "might include competitors from Asian regions."
