Song Joong Ki Reveals Reason For Accepting Offer to Appear in ‘Queen of Tears’: ‘I rushed over…’

Korean superstar Song Joong Ki revealed the reason for accepting the offer to make a cameo in the trending K-drama "Queen of Tears."

Apart from having the opportunity of reuniting with his former colleagues who are also part of the series, the actor particularly mentioned how he immediately agreed to star in the rom-com series.

Song Joong Ki Confesses Playing His Iconic Role Vincenzo Cassano Made Him Agree to Star in 'Queen of Tears'

In the released behind-the-scenes clip of tvN for the previous episodes of "Queen of Tears," viewers had a sneak peek of the lead stars bonding in-between takes.

To recall, Song Joong Ki made his special appearance in episode 8 as the lawyer and mafia consigliere Vincenzo Cassano. The actor once again captivated the viewers with his charismatic presence while perfectly clad in a suit, just like his appearance in the 2021 smash-hit drama "Vincenzo."

In the video, the "Descendants of the Sun" star expressed his thoughts on the filming and revealed the reason for accepting the offer for the special appearance in "Queen of Tears."

According to him, "I rushed over because I was offered to play the role of Vincenzo."

In addition to portraying his iconic role, it was his way of supporting his labelmate and former co-star Kim Ji Won.

"Kim Ji Won is working hard on the shoot, so I came to support her, but I find myself enjoying the filming even more." He went on, "The drama seems to have a variety of genres mixed in, so I also had fun. I enjoyed the atmosphere on set with Directors Jang Young Woo and Kim Hee Won."

The "Reborn Rich" actor also mentioned his chemistry with the drama's lead stars Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won.

"It was great to film with Kim Soo Hyun after such a long time. So I am even more excited for his long-awaited comeback. Even though I've worked on many projects with Kim Ji Won, it feels like it's been a while since I felt such tremendous energy from her while working. As one of the viewers, I will enjoy watching and supporting 'Queen of Tears.'"

It is known that Song Joong Ki's appearance was made possible due to his good relationship with director Kim Hee Won, whom he already worked with in "Vincenzo."
