'Lovely Runner' Star Byeon Woo Seok Becomes Main Event at Jeonju International Film Festival

Byeon Woo Seok attended the 25th Jeonju International Film Festival, on May 1. His agency, Varo Entertainment, is one of the companies that collaborated with this year's film festival to promote the event.

Ahead of the red carpet, Byeon Woo Seok's fans already filled the scene early in the morning.

As soon as the red carpet began, the actor arrived donned an elegant black velvet jacket partnered with a bow tie. The scene was filled with cheers reminiscent of a fan meeting.

As the "Record of Youth" actor walked on the red carpet, he humbly approached the fans and gave them a warm hello. He even shakes hands with some, delivering a good fan service. He instantly became the main event as he graced the red carpet of the film festival.

Fans made everyone laugh by calling out Byeon Woo Seok's role in his current trending drama "Lovely Runner."

The crowd screamed "Sun Jae!" as if they were Im Sol (Kim Hye Yoon's character). As they cheered and showed support for the actor, the heartthrob waved his hand at the fans with a smile.

In addition to this, the live broadcast of the film festival was also watched by the actor's fans.

After the event, some fans shared their encounter with the actor. Byeon Woo Seok was already preparing to leave the location but chose to meet his fans and collected the fans' letters and gifts for him.

This was the actor's first public event appearance following the release of his drama "Lovely Runner." The sea of crowd waiting for Byeon Woo Seok at the film festival, just showed the growing fame that the male star is receiving, thanks to his new rom-com series.

Byeon Woo Seok portrays the role of a top star, Ryu Sun Jae, who is also a member of the group Eclipse.

'Lovely Runner' Craze: Webtoon Receives Higher Sales

Aside from the drama's popularity, the original webtoon "Tomorrow's Best" saw a higher number of views and sales in the same period after the drama adaptation began airing (April 8 to April 21) compared to two weeks (Mach 25-April 7) before it debuted.

"Lovely Runner" also entered the most buzzworthy drama list as of April's second week. Its lead stars Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon, also dominated the most buzzworthy K-drama actor list.

The series also topped more than 130 countries as the most-watched K-dramas, just a week after it was released.
