An unexpected job announcement featuring South Korean actor Park Bo Gum has gone viral, prompting both excitement and skepticism from people online.
According to Koreaboo, a popular secondhand marketplace in Korea, has recently launched an advertising campaign promoting the chance to work part-time with the beloved actor. The position offered to spend time in a flower shop with Park Bo Gum entitled "Bo Gum's Flower Shop."
It was announced in the listing that the chosen applicants would be granted a one-on-one interview with Park Bo Gum, followed by a joint work shift of one hour. Only three participants will be selected via application.
It was announced in this notice that each participant would be paid ₩1 million KRW (approximately $702 USD) for just one hour of work, which many netizens found unbelievable.
Netizens took to social media to express their incredulity. One user posted, "This has to be fake, right? Who pays ₩1 million for one hour?" Another added, "If it's real, that's the most insane part-time job ever."
Although this high pay stirred skepticism, the campaign took little time to gain momentum. Within the first three days, the listing attracted over 100,000 applicants, with submissions open until November 11 (KST). Winners will be selected by a random draw and will be notified on November 18 (KST).
As per Daum, many Netizens questioned whether the posting was a genuine collaboration or a viral marketing ploy. However, the uncertainty had no effect at all in quelling interest in the position from skyrocketing, which speaks volumes about Park Bo Gum's undeniable star power and attraction with the public.
Meanwhile, the actor is busy with his work commitments as well. Among them is his historical feature, "Canvas of Blood" in which Park Bo Gum plays Prince Anpyeong, a prince of the Joseon era. Prince Suyang is his older brother, played by actor Kim Nam Gil.
