Actor Jung Woo Sung made his official first public appearance since the recent personal controversy on Nov. 13, 2025, to meet the press for the upcoming Disney+ original series "Made in Korea" at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel's Cinderella Ballroom. The event also featured director Woo Min Ho and co-stars Hyun Bin and Woo Do Hwan.

According to AllKpop, the press conference was Jung's first major activity since the revelations last November that he had a son with model Moon Gabi; he publicly said at the time that he would "fulfill his responsibilities as a father," and in August, he registered his marriage with a non-celebrity partner. Moon Gabi herself recently drew fresh attention by posting photos of their son on her social media account.

Jung explained, "When the director first approached me, I thought the character didn't suit me."

He added, "I wondered if someone more daring should take it, but as I read the script, I felt there were parts I could fill, so I took the script—I took courage."*

KBIZoom reported that Woo Do Hwan also discussed his involvement in the production; the biggest attraction for him was director Woo Min Ho.

Hyun Bin's comments on the script. He remarked, "The power of the script. It mixes the real 1970s setting with fiction to build a solid story."

Jung compared "Made in Korea" with other contemporary historical dramas. He said it offers "a distinctive story that, within a fictional tale grounded in historical facts, shows human desire and inquiry, and how people stay intensely faithful to desire to survive."

"Made in Korea" is set to release on Dec. 24, 2025. The story follows Baek Ki Tae, a man driven by his hunger for wealth and power to the center of a consequential 1970s-era criminal case. In hot pursuit, at whatever personal cost, is prosecutor Jang Geon Young, played by Woo Do Hwan.

Anticipation is high for the series, and the return of Jung Woo Sung is a pivotal moment in his career, signifying a renewed focus on the craft as he steps back into the spotlight.
