
Kim Yoon-seol, a singer known for her appearance on JTBC's competition program Sing Again 4, passed away on June 7, the day she had scheduled a 100th-day commemorative live broadcast with fans, according to reports.
As per Star News, the 28-year-old artist had posted on her social media account on June 6, announcing the live broadcast scheduled for 8 p.m. on June 7. "See you tomorrow at 8," she wrote alongside a poster image promoting the event. It remains unclear whether the broadcast took place as planned.
According to Koreaboo, an acquaintance confirmed Kim's recent passing, with her funeral held on June 8 and the funeral procession on June 9 in Guri, South Korea. The cause of death has not been disclosed by media or those close to her.
On social media, an acquaintance shared a message asking fans to visit and pay respects to Kim Yun Seol, as her personal belongings were locked and unavailable for sharing details.
Kim Yun Seol's Rise to Fame
Kim Yun Seol rose to fame after winning *Voice Kids Korea* in 2013. She later competed on "Voice Korea 2020," "I Can See Your Voice 7," and "Sing Again 4." Her last post on Instagram on April 23 suggested she intended to continue singing.
Fans and friends fondly remembered her for her vocal talent and love of music.
Kim first gained recognition in 2013 after winning the final championship on Mnet's youth audition program Voice Kids, praised for her exceptional vocal ability. She officially debuted with the single "Man and Woman" and released several works including "Finally Good-Bye." She also participated in Voice Korea 2020 and I Can See Your Voice 7 before appearing on Sing Again 4 last October.
The funeral procession was held June 9 at Guri Noksaeng Hospital's funeral hall in Gyeonggi Province, with burial at Seongnam Yeongsawon. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Tributes from colleagues and fans have poured in since her passing. Kim Jae-guk, vocalist of the band Takapi who appeared alongside her on Sing Again 4, expressed condolences on social media, saying Kim had passed "to heaven." Composer Prodi also paid tribute, recalling their collaboration and sharing a video of their performance together.
