UEE Wins Lawsuit Against Plastic Surgeon For Violation Of Publicity Rights

"Golden Rainbow" drama actress UEE, who is known for her sexy curves and lovely legs, filed a lawsuit against a plastic surgeon who used her photos without permission.

On July 2012, a certain Doctor Jung posted photos of UEE on his blog to promote his plastic surgery hospital. The post was entitled "UEE's Diet", and had captions like "UEE was pretty even before her debut, but the fat on her thighs and stomach could be improved".

According to Sun and Partners, the law firm that represents UEE and other celebrities who face similar issues, "It is not our goal to receive compensation for the misuse of her photos. There are other surgeons who use celebrity photos for the sake of publicity, but we want to emphasize that artists have an image to maintain, therefore we're taking action against such instances."

The plastic surgeon reportedly said in defense, "I only used photos that have already been published, and I did not mean to defame her character. I didn't use the photos for commercial rights either." However, the jury still sided with UEE on this matter.

The surgeon was originally charged 20 million won (~$18,500) for defamation of character, but was later reduced to 3 million won (~$2,800) for violation of publicity rights.
