K-drama Couple Park Sol Mi And Han Jae Suk Will Soon Be Parents

Actress Park Sol Mi and her husband actor Han Jae Suk are getting ready for the birth of their first child in March.

"All the preparations for the birth have been going smoothly," said Park Sol Mi. "I'm looking forward to enjoying the New Year with high spirits. I've continued my schedule of activities as before, but I've been very cautious."

The baby will be born shortly before the couple's first wedding anniversary in April. Like many other k-drama couples, the actors met on the set of a drama. In the 2010 drama "The Great Merchant," he was the male lead starring opposite Lee Mi Yeon while Park Sol Mi played the second female lead.

The couple dated for three years before deciding to marry. He proposed on her birthday, which he said was not romantic, but she accepted his proposal anyway. Their marriage cermony was held at the Sheraton Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul. Actors Jang Dong Gun and Gong Hyung Jin hosted the ceremony and the guests included Lee Min Ho and Joo Jin Mo.

"Ours is not a love that happened overnight," said Han Jae Suk at a pre-wedding press conference. "Our feelings for each other slowly grew until we decided to marry."

Park Sol Mi agreed that their relationship developed slowly.

"Our feelings for each other just grew stronger and stronger," she said.

Also, the couple decided to marry because they felt it was time to start a family. When they married, she was 35 and he was 40. Shortly after the wedding they discovered the happy news that they were expecting.

The actress is known for her roles in "Dear You," "Bad Girls," "Oh Lady" and appearing in "Winter Sonata," the drama said to have inspired the Hallyu. She also earned a nomination for "Best Supporting Actress" for her film "Paradise Murdered" at the 2007 Blue Dragon Film Awards. 

But for the last few months, she has focused on staying healthy and preparing for her child's birth.

Han Jae Suk recently played Jang Hyun Woo in the drama "Ohlala Couple" and also had a role the 2013 film "Our Heaven." He is known for his work in the dramas "Four Sisters" and "All About Eve."

At the pre-wedding press conference he explained why he decided to propose to Park Sol Mi.

"She makes up for many qualities that I lack, so I decided to marry her," he said.

And soon they will be a family.
