Many k-drama lovers describe "Boys Over Flowers" as their gateway drama. It not only helped viewers fall in love with k-dramas, but it helped many fall in love with the leading actors, Lee Min Ho, Gu Hye Sun, Kim Bum and Kim Hyun Joong.

All of these actors went on to star in a succession of other dramas, Lee Min Ho most recently in "The Heirs," Kim Bum in "Goddess of Fire: Jeonji," and Kim Hyun Joong is currently starring in "Inspiring Generation."

Fans hoped for a second season of the drama, which happened with the Taiwanese version "Meteor Garden," but no luck. Now at least Gu Hye Sun and the writer may work together again.

During the past five years Gu Hye Sun has focused less on dramas and more on her writing, art and film directing. But now she may collaborate with Yoon Ji Ryun, the writer who adapted 'Boys Over Flowers" from the manga Hani Yori Dango."

The drama Yoon Ji Ryun wrote and Gu Hye Sun may star in is called "Angel Eyes."

Several actors have been considered for the leading roles. Lee Jun Ki, who was last in "Two Weeks," considered it but now it looks like Lee Sang Yoon might play the male lead. Lee Sang Yoon was last seen in "Goddess of Fire: Jeonji," playing the prince and Moon Geun Young's love interest.

There have also been several rumors about who the leading lady will be. Rumors said that Han Ji Min, last seen in "Padam Padam" and "Rooftop Prince" was up for the role, as was Han Ga In of "The Moon Embracing The Sun." Han Ga In's agency denied the rumors, saying she had not been offered the role.

Now it seems as if Gu Hye Sun is in the final stages of negotiation for the role.

Both Gu Hye Sun and Lee Sang Yoon's agencies say they received casting offers and are in discussions with the broadcasting stations.

The story of the weekend drama concerns a first love separated by family tragedy. The lovers reunite 12 years later. The heroine was blind but thanks to an operation can see again and has some supernatural abilities. So, she can see more than most people, but will she recognize her lost love, since she never saw him when they first met?

Kang Ha Neul of "The Heirs" has been cast as the teenage version of the hero, while Nam Ji Hyun of "Hwa-Yi" will play the younger version of the heroine.

Choi Moon Suk, who directed "Will It Snow For Christmas," will direct "Angel Eyes." The drama will follow "She Gets Married Thrice" in April.
