The upcoming drama "Angel Eyes" has lined up its lead actors. After much speculation and several candidates up for the leading roles, Gu Hye Sun and Lee Sang Yoon have made the cut.

Gu Hye Sun will play Yoon Soo Won, a woman who was blind but thanks to an operation can now see. Because Yoon Soo Won received the gift of sight, she decides to help others by becoming an emergency rescue worker. But even helping others cannot heal the pain she feels over her lost first love. The couple broke up 12 years ago, due to family issues, but meet again, and find they have another chance at love.

It has been a while since Gu Hye Sun took a chance on a drama.

"Since it's my first production in a long time, I am very excited," said the actress, whose drama roles include "Boys Over Flowers," "Take Care of Us Captain" and "The Musical."

To prepare for the role, she will train as an EMT.

"Although it does make me nervous that the filming is going to be so realistic, I will strive to do my best," she said.

During her years away from dramaland, she had been very busy, directing, writing, illustrating and even composing music. She was so busy with so many projects that it began to look like she had given up on drama acting. But she could not resist another chance to work with Yoon Ji Ryun, the writer of "Boys Over Flowers."

"I wanted to do a production with writer Yoon Ji Ryun again," said Gu Hye Sun. "When I worked on 'Boys Over Flowers' I had so much fun. I'm so happy to work with her again."

Lee Sang Yoon, who was last seen in "Goddess of Fire: Jeonji," will play Park Dong Soo. He is Soo Won's lost love and the one who broke off the relationship. When they meet again, the years have changed them. They are no longer the same people that originally fell in love.

They will probably meet in the emergency room as she is an emergency rescue worker and he is a doctor. He was happy to have the opportunity to play a doctor.

"I've always wanted to be a doctor," he said.  "I'm working hard to understand my character. Dong Joo is a man who only watches the woman he loves from a distance. But he does struggle to overcome the misfortunes he faces."

Kang Ha Neul, who recently appeared in "The Heirs," and Nam Ji Hyeon, who appeared in "To The Beautiful You," will play the teen-aged versions of the main characters. The weekend drama will air in April after "She Gets Married Thrice."
