With the explosive domestic and international success of his drama "Man From The Stars", as well as his several product advertisement and promotional stints, 2014 is undeniably Kim Soo Hyun's year.

On the March 16 broadcast of MBC's "Section TV Entertainment Relay", the show predicted that the actors income for the year will amount to a whopping 30 billion won (~$28 million) based on the success of "Man From The Stars" and his other projects.

His popularity in China was discussed, even comparing it to Lee Min Ho, stating that he has surpassed the Hallyu King's popularity. For his appearance in the variety show "Super Brain", he was fetched with a private jet to fly him in from Korea, and his security team consisted of around 600 heavily armed security guards. The estimate cost of his visit to China is 3 million yuan(~$400,000).

Even the reselling of the tickets to his show was a big issue, as the admission tickets which were originally free of charge were sold as high as 5 million won (~$4,600).
