Lee Joon of MBLAQ bagged the award for Best New Actor during the first ever Wildflower Film Awards held last April 1 at the Literature House in Jung-gu district, Seoul.

This award-giving body aims to recognize low-budget or independent movies that usually have a production budget of less than KRW 1,000,000,000 (or approximately USD 950,000).

In addition, Lee Joon was also nominated in the Best Actor category but failed to take home the trophy. Nevertheless, he feels thankful about this recognition as a rookie actor.

Rough Play (or literally translated as "An Actor Is An Actor") is a 2013 movie where Lee Joon played the role of Oh Young, an aspiring actor who became entangled with the sinful side of the movie industry. Besides Lee Joon's dark portrayal of his character, the movie also became controversial because of its explicit sexual scenes. Lee Joon is the first ever idol to be seen fully naked in such scenes.

Currently, Lee Joon and the rest of the members of MBLAQ are busy with their comeback, promoting their sixth mini album "Broken" and performing their carrier track "Be A Man" in various music programs.

He is also busy with his upcoming thriller drama "Gabdongi" (International Title: Gabdong - Memories of Murder) which will air on tvN starting April 11.
