Shinhwa's Eric Mun Says He And Na Hye Mi Are Not Dating: But Did They Ever?
No. Whatever, you heard before, Shinhwa Company now says that Shinhwa leader and rapper Eric Mun is not dating actress Na Hye Mi. But have they ever dated?
That's an interesting question. It's a question his own agency finds difficult to answer.
"After directly confirming the situation with both parties, it seems the two have never been in a romantic relationship in the past and continue to be only close friends," said a representative from Shinhwa Company. "We are officially announcing that Eric and Na Hye Mi are not dating."
The agency blamed the confusion on miscommunication within the company.
"It seems there was some internal confusion while trying to explain that they have had a close friendship for a long time," said the company's representative.
The possibility of a romantic relationship between the singer and the 12-year-younger actress is not news to Shinhwa fans. Na Hye Mi's name is often seen on his fan sites and multiple articles have identified her as his girlfriend.
Yesterday Yonhap News quoted a source who said that the two dated and broke up thn got back together again. The source also said the couple have been dating for a while. They were recently seen together at a shopping mall near Eric's home in Sungsoodung. Na Hye Mi attended Shinhwa's 16th Anniversary Concert at the Olympic Gymnastic Arena last month.
When Shinhwa Company was originally asked if the two actors were dating, a representative said that they thought the two were a couple, but the uncertain state of the relationship between the singer and actress has confused even his agency.
"It's true that Eric and Na Hye Mi did date," said a company representative after the article in Yonhap News was published. "However they break up and get back together so frequently we are not sure of their current status."
That was before they checked with Eric Mun and he clarified the nature of their relationship. Not dating was what he said. And according to him they never dated.
Eric debuted as boy band Shinhwa in 1998. He has acted in the dramas "Fire Bird", "Super Rookie", "Strongest Chil Woo", and "Spy Myung Wol".
Na Hye Mi, who debuted as a child actress through 2001 movie "Address Unknown," appeared in the 2006 MBC sitcom "Unstoppable High Kick" and in the drama "Over The Rainbow." The actress and model made a cameo appearance in the KBS drama "Love Rides the Song" last December.
