With the departure of front runner "Inspiring Generation," Park Yoochun's political thriller "Three Days" came out ahead.

The competition between those dramas has been intense and they've alternated taking first place. But now that "Inspiring Generation" has ended, nothing can stop "Three Days." Not only is the show a hit in Korea but it's the next big Hallyu hit in China.

The drama reached 12 percent in the ratings by its second day, up from 11.3 percent on Wednesday. The drama previously recorded ratings of 12.9 percent but it hasn't reached 12 percent in a while.

There are only four episodes left and Park Yoochun, playing presidential bodyguard Han Tae Kyung, is still not completely sure who to trust. He trusted the president, played by Son Hyun Joo, and then he learned that he was involved in an incident that cost innocent civilian lives.

After having devoted his entire life to the mission of protecting the president, Han Tae Kyung's next mission is to find out the truth about a scandal that could bring down the president. In the end, he decides to dedicate his life to protecting the president again. In so doing, he has gone full circle from unquestioning dedication to being distraught and disillusioned to renewing his dedication.

He also mistrusted his fellow agent Lee Cha Young, played by So E Hyun, but then learned she was only working undercover. The villains seem invincible but he is determined.

It's about time to take down the true villains in this drama and its likely viewers will stay loyal to see that happen.

The romantic comedy "Cunning Single Lady," starring Lee Min Jung and Joo Sang Wook, has also taken its two central characters full circle. The protagonist ex-spouses have grown close and divulged secrets that they did not dare to share before. In a way their separation and warring has matured them emotionally and made them a much better couple. That drama bumped up in the ratings too, going from 8.2 percent to 9.1 percent.

The revenge melodrama "Golden Cross" began this week too, taking over from the poorly rated 'Full Sun." And while "Golden Cross" won praise for its acting and writing, it did not immediately earn the best ratings. The first episode this week earned 5.7 percent, while the second episode rated only 5.0 percent. Viewers committed to the other two dramas will probably not be switching their loyalty so close to the end of the series.
