Kim Hyun Joong Refuses To Portray Flower Boy And Student Roles In The Future

Despite being known for portraying flower boy and top student characters, actor Kim Hyun Joong admitted that he wants to break away from this stereotype by refusing to portray such roles in the future.

"I want to portray roles that suit my age," he said in an interview with news website Newsen. He shared that his former roles didn't suit his real life personality, and with his role in the KBS drama "Age Of Feeling", he was able to change his image.

On having another student role, he said, "I don't think I can ever wear a uniform in the future. I was able to do it in before because it suited me and I was younger back then, but now that I'm older, it's just embarrassing."

Along with being the leader of idol group SS501, Kim Hyun Joong shot into stardom with his flower boy roles in dramas "Boys Over Flowers" and "Playful Kiss".

Meanwhile, he said that he practices his acting by watching documentaries of real people, "My acting will not be genuine if I study great actors because I'm not yet at their level. I gain knowledge of my characters through watching documentaries about people like them."

Kim Hyun Joong is currently preparing to meet fans through a world tour and a new studio album.
