Angel Locsin Latest News: "The Legal Wife" starring Angel Locsin and Maja Salvador continued to rule its time slot in nationwide ratings on Tuesday putting it on track to top its most recent average monthly viewership across the country, according to Kantar Media.

According to ABS CBN, the primetime series garnered a nationwide rating of 28.1% on May 6, as measured by Kantar Media using a panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes. Its competing program aired on GMA-7, "Rhodora X," lagged behind by 16.5 percentage points on the same day, with only 11.6% in national TV ratings. "The Legal Wife" also consistently topped ratings in its time slot in the first week of May, having registered 26.5% vs 12.4% on May 1, 26.5% vs 13.4% on May 2, and 25.3% vs 11% on May 5.

"The Legal Wife" is on its way to thrashing its highest average monthly rating of 23.5% set in April. The prime time drama debuted last January 27. It had its best rating of 29.2% on April 24.

The rising viewership of "The Legal Wife" happens together with the unfolding drama when the Monica (Locsin) discovers that her best friend Nicole (Salvador) is having an affair with her husband, Adrian (Jericho Rosales).

In an episode of the primetime series, Locsin, under the titular character Monica, comes across a necklace on the beach, which she recognizes as the item bought by Adrian (Jericho Rosales) but never turned up as a gift for either her, his mother, or sister.

The doubtful Monica comes to the conclusion that Adrian's mistress must be at the same resort where they are staging a bikini competition for a client. In an attempt to identify the owner of the necklace, Monica asks all those present at the pageant rehearsals if any of them lost the ornament, only to find out that Nicole (Maja Salvador) owns it and claims it.

As quoted from the report, "Faced with the realization that Nicole may be her husband's mistress, Monica remembers details of her best friend's past interactions with Adrian, which on hindsight appear to have clued her in on the affair.

Monica calls a client about a gift it recently sent to Nicole, in the hope of hearing that it was the company that sent her the necklace. She breaks down in tears when she gets confirmation that the client sent Nicole an electronic tablet, and not the necklace."

Later in the episode, Monica caught the "illegal" couple holding hands.

In the recent weeks, the story of unfaithfulness has also become a hot topic on social media. Report says that "The Legal Wife" is consistently ranking among the top trending topics locally and worldwide on micro-blogging site Twitter.

"The Legal Wife," which is under the direction of Rory Quintos and Dado Lumibao, airs weeknights after "Ikaw Lamang" during ABS-CBN's primetime block.
